Nike Selects Lincoln High School as an 'Elite' Football Program
The Lincoln High School football team will have a new emblem on their jersey next year: a Nike swoosh.
Nike and Lincoln announced today a multi-year sponsorship deal that places the Lincoln Trojans football program as one of a select few Nike Elite programs in the state of Florida. And, the only football program in North Florida.

“We wanted to partner with Lincoln because of their long standing success on the playing field and we feel they have tremendous untapped potential. A “Five Days Till Friday” has been put in place which is a unique experience on its own and truly shows our commitment to Lincoln,” said Rhanda Hinote, Vice President of Sales/OTS, the representing team dealer for Nike. “OTS and Nike look forward to growing this partnership together with not only Lincoln football but the entire athletic department and administration.”
“Lincoln football has been on Nike’s radar for quite some time. We are ecstatic to finally have Lincoln aboard the Nike team and look forward to the ongoing partnership,” said Shawna Toy, Nike Team Sales Representative for the Southeast.
The high school elite program is similar to how Nike sponsors college football programs.
Head Coach Yusuf Shakir began conversations with Nike two years ago. “Our school’s motto is a commitment to excellence. To have Lincoln partner with such a great company pushes us to the next level,” said Shakir. “I’m proud of the fact that our football program has been recognized as one of the best in the state.”
“We’re thrilled. This opportunity came on the heels of Lincoln being named among the “Top 15 High School Football Factories” in the United States by the Bleacher Report. That same week four of our players signed national letters of intent with major Division 1 college football programs. Now we’re a Nike elite school. This is just the beginning of great things to come for the Lincoln family,” added Allen Burch, the principal at Lincoln High School.
The Lincoln Trojans ended their 34th season with a combined varsity record of 261-122-1, which includes 16 trips to the state playoffs. Lincoln has amassed a record of 34-14 in the playoffs and has recorded two state championships (1999 and 2001) and one state runner-up (2008). This tradition of excellence continues to produce top collegiate and NFL athletes and is the foundation for Lincoln’s success.
